Internships

To provide the maximum benefit of the internship experience, the School of Business offers two internship programs specifically tailored for the student's academic area:

  • Accounting Internship Program for students majoring in Accounting (more info)
  • Business Internship Program for students majoring in Management (more info)

The Greater Birmingham area, with a population of more than 1 million, offers many opportunities for students to interact with business entities. Large publicly traded companies and new entrepreneurial ventures are receptive to students who want to enhance their academic studies with hands-on experience. Industries in the area include utilities, health care, light and heavy manufacturing, banking, and multinational corporations.

Accounting students have access to the “Big Four” multinational, as well as numerous regional and local, public accounting firms. Additionally, students interested in working in corporate accounting have opportunities to work with the accounting organizations of nearby corporations.
